Design Process 11

After the consultation with lecturers and group members, we come out with the design 2.

It is the rough sketch of the design 2.

Since the design 1 is about the nail, the design 2 will be the ring.

As the demand will be higher than the nail because not every guy will like to wear the nail. But ring is different, it is like a decoration and accessory that normally people nowadays will wear regardless man or woman.

Basically the ring will have the same function and ability with the nail. It comes with the function of reminding people to do things on time and help people to save time in their daily life. For example, the daily schedule will automatically appear and it will alert you to do the certain thing and send you the notification. Because we are human, not machine, wearing the ring will help to remind something when you about to forget it. Besides that, the ring comes with the augmented reality function which will help the users to save a lot of time. For example, the users can get the information like where is the nearby restaurant and which road is the fastest by sync with GPS and wifi. The world communication system will send back the info to the users when it detects with the building or the road.

The ring has camera, pico-projector, proximity sensor long range, bluetooth, wifi, button, vibrator, speaker and microphone, energetic detector. So, these technology will help us to design our ring which help people to have more time in their life.

Design Process 10

There is a new discovery from teacher and it is the augmented reality.

Augmented reality (AR) is a live director indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data. You can modify the view of imaginary into the reality by computer.

Nowadays, the application of augmented reality is available in window phone, android and apple. By wearing the device, it helps people to get the information quickly and easily and this device has developed and help in a lot of aspect such as construction of architecture and machine development.

So how does AR work?

From the picture above, we can know that when we want to get the information, we have to take picture or using other ways such as GPS, touchpad. After that, the data will send to the server and the computer will help us to modify it and sent it back to us. Basically, this is how AR works.

In our group's design, we will apply some of the concept and put it in to modify our S'nail.

Design Process 9

So, how does the S'nail works?

As it can project the screen on the hand, it actually has a tiny projector inside the nail, just like how google glass works. When you want to check on the schedule, the S'nail which powered by voice control, can get the instruction when you speak. So, the schedule will directly be projected out on your hand. Of course, you can choose to open the schedule by touching the s'nail.

Changing the schedule inside will just simply need to double tap the screen on your hand then you can make a change directly. Besides that, you can make change via your computer, laptop, phone, iPad or any technology device which connect with your S'nail. Addition, the S'nail will share schedule among you and your friends so you don't need to worry that your schedule is outdated.

Before your task/schedule is coming, it will vibrance and flash to alert you not to miss your task. You can even set alarm for it. While you open the screen of the S'nail, a free daily quote will appear to motivate you.

The S'nail is in multi language so it is not a problem to different races of people.

The most important part is that the S'nail is using solar energy so you don't need to charge it and no need to worry it is out of battery halfway. It is easy to use and user-friendly.

So, the basic function of the S'nail is roughly about it. But these are not all about it, more fantastic idea and function will be outed soon.

Design Process 8

During the holiday of Chinese New Year, I watched a movie in the cinema- From Vegas to Macau 2. Another amazing and informative idea popped out into my mind and I get inspiration from this movie.

 In the movie, two kind people were fighting with a bunch of bad guys which trying to catch them. So the scene was set into the fighting scene. The two kind guys are hiding behind a wall and the bad guys shoot them with guns and the bullets break through the wall. Since holes was created by the bullets, one of the kind guy put his finger out of the wall and he gives signal and direction to another kind guy and finally the kind guy manages to kill all the enemy and escape from the dangerous place.

Ya, the main focus is the finger! The guy puts on a device on his nail and it can send him the visual in front to him without looking at it by himself. The device is transparent and people will not notice it. It is light and not heavy. All of the features from this movie becomes an inspiration for me.

So, our group decided to design a device, named S'nail.

Concept, function, ability and rough sketch were shown above. Besides that, we will further discuss about our device to make it more complete and user-friendly.

Design Process 7

Based on our idea and concept, our group is going to make a device that people can wear it on therefore it can reach the purpose of reminding people to use their time properly by an easy way.

Before that, we have talked about bracelet and Iwatch. And another idea I will talk about today is the google glass. Another amazing design which make our life more easy and interesting.

Google glass was developed by Google and it is a wearable technology which wearers can communicate via Internet. Wearers will get the information when the Google glass detects the target. So, wearers can get the information easily and fast.

From the picture above, we know that the Google glass comes with the battery, CPU, camera, speakers, micro and prism. The main function is based on a mini projector which means when it connect to the internet, the information will be projected out that make the wearer sees the document.

Actually it is kinda similar to the QR code scanner.

When we use the scanner to scan the QR code. The related shop/user/address will automatically connect to it so that we can find the information we look for easy, simple and fast. 

A brilliant and smart design combine with the technology can easily change our life. So, our group will design a device to solve our ' time not enough' problems.

Design Process 6

Today, I will talk about Iwatch which is one of the inspiration of our solution.

As the iPhone 6 is launching, the Apple creates another smart device to attract people attention which is known as Iwatch. Of course, many people are crazy for it and why are they behave like that? Definitely the Iwatch has some special and amazing features which make our life easy and modern.

What is it feature?

Iwatch can be known as smart watch. It has included the apps which you can find in iPhone such as IMessanger, Health, Calendar, Weather, Photo, Camera's Shutter Button and Passbook. It even has another feature which you can't find in iPhone and that is the flashlight.

It will alert the user when it receive any notification. While you are wearing it, you can check any of the information anytime and need not to take out your phone. Some more, it is a modern and innovative design which will make your appearance looks even smart and fashion. So, it kills two birds with one stone.

So, what can we do to achieve our dreams when we have not enough time? Time management will be the most important key point. If you can manage your time well, you will have some of the extra time to do the things you want to pursue. 

And our design will help people to solve this problems. We human are not a machine. For sure sometimes, we will forget and miss out something in our daily life. Therefore, an easy and user-friendly device will help us to overcome this problems.

Our device is not only easy but also comes with a lot of feature which will alert user in the right time. It will also note down what you should do automatically. Our purpose and aim to design this product is to make our life to be more easy and convenience.

Design Process 5

Time is not enough for us. Therefore, we can't achieve our dreams.

In order to solve this problems, we have found out some of the solutions.

Inspiration of making an application from myself. For me, I will note down what should I do today a day before to make sure my tasks can be done in the limited time.  Set a target or a goal make my things get completed easily and faster. Now, I am using an app to record my schedule. It is easy and simple. You just need to clink it and type out what you want to do. You can specify it into different category. You can even set an alarm or notification to remind you.

However, apps now are mostly developed in the phone, ipad, tablet or laptop. In order to make the ‘reminder’ to be more easy and user-friendly, I further develop my idea and get inspired by this so call ‘bracelet’ and Iwatch. And besides that, people nowadays use to wear watch and bracelet to beautify themselves. Slowly, it has become a cultural and habit in a country. Everyone wanna to look good and somehow watch and bracelet are functional. So what is the reason for not wearing them?

It looks like a watch. You can wear it in everywhere, anytime. You need not to take out your phone or you tablet but just a click, the data inside it will appear. Besides that, it has the same function with phone. But more safe and will not cause any crime case. Most importantly, don’t you find it is cool when you wear it?
